About Intentional Grandparenting
Being a grandparent is amazing because grandchildren are a wonderful blessing! With that blessing comes great responsibility. God purposefully designed us to pass on our spiritual heritage to our children and grandchildren. The Bible is clear on the responsibility grandparents have to teach, disciple, encourage, and influence the next generations. Through stories and examples of our faith, our personal experiences with God, our wisdom, and our ability to show grace and love, we can have a tremendous spiritual influence on our grandchildren. Don’t we all want our loved ones to know and love the Lord!
God’s desire is for us to be intentional with our grandparenting. That is a new concept for many who thought of retirement and grandparenting to be only “all about fun and games.” This group was created to have a community with multiple purposes. First we will utilize resources and curriculum from the Legacy Coalition organization to encourage, envision, and equip grandparents to intentionally disciple their grandchildren. Additionally we strive to be each other’s support and confidential prayer partners, to provide resources, and offer help with tools and ideas for close connection with your grandchildren.
Intended meeting schedule (more details to come):
